Disneyland’s Marvel Avengers Campus set to open June 4 at Disney California Adventure Park
Disneyland Resort is giving Marvel fans a chance to enter the universe starting June 4 when Avengers Campus is set to open inside Disney California Adventure Park, the company announced Thursday.
“We are so excited to soon welcome our guests to Avengers Campus, our first land dedicated to Super Heroes,” Ken Potrock, president of Disneyland Resort, said in a statement. “Here, our cast members will unite to help guests of all ages find their super powers and create special memories.”
Avengers Campus will offer an immersive, high-tech experience for guests in the “new land” which will be dedicated to the discovery, recruitment and then training of the next generation of superheroes.
“Avengers Campus will be a place where fans and guests can finally step into the universe they love, and stand alongside some of their favorite heroes,” Dave Bushore, vice president of Franchise Creative & Marketing for Marvel Studios, said in a statement. “The optimism inherent in Avengers Campus captures the diversity, power and teamwork these extraordinary characters possess, and now they come together to unite people from all over the world under one guiding principle: We are stronger together.”
Guests will have the opportunity to see Spider-Man swinging above the campus on their way to a new ride called “Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure.” Visitors will also have the opportunity to ride “Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout!” – which originally opened in the park in 2017 – and will be part of Avengers Campus in June.
Inside the Campus, guests will have the opportunity to run into Marvel heroes and characters including Black Panther, Wakanda’s elite guard team “Dora Milaje” led by Okoye, Iron Man in a new set of armor, Captain Marvel, Ant-Man and The Wasp, Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy. Doctor Strange will also be present at an Ancient Sanctum that will come to life with “powerful spells” at night, according to Disney.
In terms of dining, the campus will include “Pym Test Kitchen,” “Shawarma Palace” and “Terran Treats.”
Retail locations will include “The Campus Supply Pod” offering official Avengers Campus gear and the WEB Suppliers store offering inventions similar to those seen on the Web Slingers ride.
