Masungi Geopark reopens to the public.
The Masungi Georeserve, a premier eco-tourism destination in Rizal province, reopened for the first time on Wednesday (November 25) after being closed for months due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Guests must book reservations through Masungi’s website, with groups limited to five to eight people to adhere to minimum health protocols.
The entrance fee ranges from PHP1,500 to PHP1,800, and there is no testing required unless you are already at the site and experiencing symptoms.
“Ang maganda dito sa Masungi it’s quite close to Metro Manila and alam naman natin ‘yong mga turista galing National Capital Region so this is close enough (What’s good here in Masungi is that it’s quite close to Metro Manila and we know that most of the tourists are from the NCR so this is close enough),” Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said during an interview with reporters in Baras town.
The destination is known for its sprawling limestone landscape and trails perched on towering trees.

The Masungi Georeserve’s Facebook page announced on October 20, 2021, that visits to the park’s Discovery and Legacy Trails had resumed on a limited basis.
- Only pre-registered groups and individuals who have booked reservation slots through Masungi Georeserve’s website will be accommodated inside the trails.
- The Discovery Trail of Masungi Georeserve allows guests to go through the conservation area, and come up close with the karst terrain.
- Guests can also opt for the Legacy Trail in the conservation site, an immersion in the greater Masungi Geopark Project where restoration efforts are currently ongoing.
- The visitors will be able to directly participate in bringing life back in the abused land and care for the area, including firsthand experiences in tree planting and tree nurturing.
- Since the Masungi Georeserve is an outdoor attraction, there are no closed spaces within the trail experiences, allowing for low-risk activities for friends and family. The minimum group size allowed at this time is 5 persons above 18 years old.
- One group is currently allowed per time slot to ensure zero impact on the natural environment as well as visitors’ safety and privacy.
Those interested can request a visit schedule through the Masungi Georeserve’s website.
