Netherlands Lifts COVID-19 Testing Requirement for Travelers From Philippines & Other Several Countries.

Fully vaccinated travellers from Brazil, Israel, Costa Rica, Malaysia, the Philippines, Saint Lucia, and Seychelles will now be able to enter the Netherlands under less stringent restrictions as the countries will be removed from the very high-risk list. Instead, they will be placed on the high-risk list.

In line with the latest update made by the Dutch authorities, all vaccinated persons reaching the Netherlands from one of the third countries mentioned above will no longer be subject to the testing requirement.

Such a decision, which starts being effective from tomorrow, October 29, has been taken after the countries’ epidemiologic situation has slightly improved during the last couple of weeks, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.

The Netherlands currently has an entry ban against all those travelling from a high-risk area to the European Union or Schengen Area. Nonetheless, travellers from this category are still permitted entry, provided that the purpose of their trip falls under the exemption list.

Additionally, in general, all those who have been fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 disease are exempted from the entry ban.

The Dutch authorities have previously revealed that in order for a person to be considered fully vaccinated, they should hold a vaccination certificate which indicates that they have been immunised against the COVID-19 disease with one of the vaccines that the country recognised.

Apart from the vaccination certificate, everyone over the age of 13 is required to fill in a health control form and carry it with them.

Since Brazil, Israel, Costa Rica, Malaysia, the Philippines, Saint Lucia, and Seychelles will no longer be part of the very high-risk list, travellers from these countries will now also be exempt from the self-isolation rules.

In contrast, the authorities have emphasised that the testing rule will continue to remain effective for all those who have not been vaccinated yet.

“Travellers from outside the EU do not have to show a negative test result if they have proof of vaccination. If you can’t show proof of vaccination, you must be able to show a negative COVID-19 test result. This applies to everyone aged 12 or over,” the statement of the Dutch Government reads.

Even though testing is no longer mandatory for fully vaccinated travellers arriving from high-risk areas, the authorities suggest that everyone undergo testing upon arrival, regardless of their vaccination status. This advice has been given in order to avoid any potential infection of travellers.
