Bali will reopen to all countries for tourism on February 4th.

On February 4th, Indonesia will reopen Bali to all international visitors. As the country tries to resurrect tourism, visitors will be subjected to a brief quarantine period. The news comes after Indonesia lifted its immigration ban on January 18.

Due to a limited number of visas and tight quarantine, only a few people visited Bali despite a tiny list of nations permitted to enter. Since early 2020, no direct international planes have landed in Bali, but this will change in February.

The New Entry Requirements

Later this week, Indonesia will enable visitors from all countries to enter Bali. Travelers from 18 countries had to fly directly to Bali and be confined at a government hotel previously. Only passengers from 18 countries, including China, New Zealand, Spain, Sweden, India, and the United Arab Emirates, may arrive straight in Bali and be quarantined in a government-approved hotel until this week.

Citizens of the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada will be able to fly directly into Bali beginning on February 4th. The new approach avoids the need to first quarantine in Jakarta, as was the case previously.

Luhut Panjaitan, a cabinet minister in charge of Indonesia’s response to the COVID-19 epidemic, said the quarantine period for fully vaccinated travelers will be reduced from seven days to five days and four nights. Travelers who only received one dosage of the vaccine must still stay in quarantine for seven days.

Visa On Arrival

In the next weeks, the government will decide on the status of Bali’s other requirements, such as a visa with a local sponsor and health insurance. The suspension of the visa on arrival program has made it extremely difficult for visitors to enter Bali in recent months.

As a result, visitors were required to get a visa from VISIT VISA, a local sponsor (B211A). Thousands of visitors have been put off visiting the island as a result of this, and obtaining a local sponsor visa is difficult.

Visitors from over 160 countries were able to visit Bali without a visa during regular ‘pre-pandemic’ times. Most travelers will continue to shun Bali until Indonesia enables visitors to enter with a visa on arrival. In February, a resolution on the visa-on-arrival issue is expected.

From February 4, tourists can visit Bali through direct or connecting flights. Singapore Airlines stated in an email on Monday that daily flights to Bali will resume on February 16. This makes it easy for visitors to travel to Bali from other Asian countries like Thailand and Singapore. Last week, Singapore and Indonesia resumed quarantine-free travel between Singapore and the Indonesian islands of Bintan and Batam.

The COVID-19 Situation In Bali

As the number of COVID-19 cases rises in Indonesia, the country’s quarantine rules have been relaxed. As of January 30, Indonesia’s 7-day case average was 8,115, with 12,422 new cases reported. Indonesia has given out 312,563,478 vaccination doses, which is equivalent to 57.7% of the country’s population.
Bali, on the other hand, has the country’s highest immunization rate. Nearly 90% of the island’s inhabitants had been fully immunized.

However, Bali has the country’s highest immunization rate. Nearly 90% of the island’s inhabitants had been immunized.

Although it’s still challenging to visit Asia—the signs are finally looking promising.
