In the last two years, we’ve all grown accustomed to using masks, particularly when traveling. Some countries, on the other hand, have already repealed mask laws.

As a result, travelers are free to make their own decisions on wearing masks in these nations:

1. The United Kingdom 

Travelers and citizens in the United Kingdom are no longer required to wear masks by law. Despite the fact that the United Kingdom Although the government still advises wearing masks in crowded areas, tourists are allowed to make their own choices.

Because of devolution, the nations of the United Kingdom can make their own decisions on masks:

• Scotland – Scotland has kept the mask mandate throughout the pandemic; however, this will end on March 21. 
• Wales – Wales still has a mask mandate in shops, gyms, salons, etc. Most travelers, however, won’t visit Wales during their U.K. trip (although it’s beautiful there.)
• Northern Ireland – Northern Ireland has removed the requirement to wear masks
• England – England has removed the requirement to wear masks. 

2. Ireland 

The law requiring people to wear masks in public places has been repealed in Ireland. There are no longer any rules requiring people to wear masks in busy settings, however they are still recommended. Until last month, the Irish government required masks to be worn in stores, pubs, hotels, and other places where people congregate.

3. Sweden 

The Swedish government recommends that travelers wear face masks in all indoor or crowded spaces; however, it’s not a legal requirement and travelers can make their own decision. Sweden has also removed almost all COVID-19 restrictions.

4. Norway 

In all indoor or crowded locations, the Swedish government suggests that passengers wear face masks; however, this is not a legal necessity, and travelers can make their own decision. Almost all COVID-19 restrictions have also been lifted in Sweden.

5. Denmark

Although the Danish government advises all visitors to wear face masks, it is no longer a legal necessity. In early February, Denmark became the first EU country to lift all COVID-19 restrictions.

6. Canada 

Face masks are no longer required in some parts of Canada, despite the fact that the requirement has not been repealed across the country. In Alberta, for example, the requirement to wear masks in all indoor venues other than hospitals was repealed.

7. The United States

The mask mandate has been repealed in all 50 states. This month, Hawaii became the latest U.S. state to repeal the mask requirement for indoor venues. In most U.S. states, wearing face coverings in indoor settings is recommended, although after March 26 it is up to the individual’s discretion.

Thoughts for the End

Face coverings are still required in most indoor environments around the world. Face masks are common throughout Asia, even when there isn’t a pandemic. Despite the reduction in COVID-19 restrictions, Europe still has relatively strong mask requirements in most places.
