Maldives removes testing Vaccinated travelers
Maldives abolished testing for Vaccinated travelers.
A recent trend in which more countries are removing traveler testing requirements. Another renowned tourist destination has recently joined the list of countries adopting this strategy.
The following changes to entry requirements will take effect on Saturday, March 5, 2022:
- Vaccinated visitors will no longer be required to submit a negative PCR test result before to arrival.
- Tourists who have been vaccinated and are staying on inhabited islands will no longer need to provide a negative PCR test when they leave.
This is excellent news, as it alleviates some of the stress associated with visiting the Maldives. Prior to travel, travelers will still need to fill out a traveler health declaration, but that’s it. Individual resorts can, of course, choose to have a testing requirement (given that many properties are on their own islands), but I doubt they will.
Bottom line
Beginning March 5, 2022, the Maldives will no longer require vaccination testing for vaccinated tourists. This is great news because it eliminates the necessity for PCR tests for vaccinated tourists. In recent weeks, we’ve noticed this trend in a number of countries; let’s hope it becomes the standard soon.
It’s so nice to see this “return to normal”
