Oman Removes All Entry Requirements and Travel Rules

Oman has become the latest country to Remove all of its Covid-related entry requirements for visitors – following in the footsteps of the many countries that have already done the same.

Just yesterday, we reported that five countries in the last week or so had made the decision to relax – and in some cases remove all of – their entry requirements for those wanting to enter for tourism purposes.

Now, Oman has decided to follow suit and remove all of their remaining entry requirements – which had previously been in place due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

So, basically you can now enter Oman just like in pre-pandemic times – with no need to show proof of vaccination – or undergo any testing, or quarantine, whatsoever, no matter the country you’re coming from.

What Were Oman’s Latest Covid-Related Entry Requirements?

Prior to now, for anyone who wanted to enter Oman there were a number of entry requirements that needed to be adhered to – with unvaccinated travelers unable to enter, unless they were able to provide proof of medical reasons as to why they had not been vaccinated.

For fully vaccinated travelers – aged 18 and above – wanting to enter the country prior to now, they would have had to:

• present proof of their Covid-19 vaccination – with the second dose having had to have been administered at least 14 days prior to their arrival into the country
• show proof that they had taken out travel insurance – which covered at least 30 days of Covid-related medical treatment.

In order to have been classified as fully vaccinated, travelers must have received one of the following vaccines:

• AstraZeneca
• Pfizer-BioNTech
• Moderna
• Janssen
• Sinovac
• Sinopharm
• Sputnik V
• Covaxin

Visitors under the age of 18, however, were not previously required to present any proof that they had been vaccinated against Covid-19.

The country’s most recent entry protocols did not include a requirement for vaccinated travelers to undertake any pre-departure – or on arrival – Covid testing, as well as undergo any quarantine.

Both of these requirements were, however, listed in the nation’s previous entry requirements – which were in place earlier in the year.

You Can Now Enter Oman Without Any Covid-Related Entry Requirements

Fast forward to the present time, however, and travelers wanting to visit Oman – which is situated on the southeastern coast of the Arab Peninsula – can now enter without having to adhere to a single Covid-related entry requirement.

Yes, you heard right – there is no longer a need to show proof that you have been vaccinated – or any requirement for you to undergo Covid-19 testing or quarantine. All entry requirements and travel rules for Oman have officially been removed as of May 22, 2022.

This means that whether you are fully vaccinated – or not – you can now enter the country for tourism purposes, and once again enjoy all that this beautiful and fascinating nation has to offer.

Do You Need A Visa To Enter Oman?

For American and British travelers, there is no need to obtain a tourist visa in order to visit the country for up to 14 days.

However, if you are wanting to stay for a longer period of time inside the country – for more than two weeks (14 days) – you will need to obtain a visa that will allow you to do so.

You can apply for a tourist eVisa online – which will allow you to stay for up to 30 days.
