Disney Cruises Has Revealed Their Plans For a First-Ever Voyage To A Newly Introduced Island Destination.

Starting in June of next year, Disney Cruise Line’s newest island destination, Lighthouse Point in The Bahamas, will be added to select itineraries for the 2024 summer season. The inaugural sailing will depart from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on the Disney Magic ship. Bookings for the new destination will be available from March 30. According to Sharon Siskie, the senior vice president and general manager of Disney Cruise Line, the company is excited to offer families new vacation options, including the new island destination, as well as new ports of call in Europe, Alaska, and the Caribbean.

According to the cruise line, Lighthouse Point, the new island destination, has been developed to showcase Bahamian artistry while prioritizing the company’s commitment to conservation. The seven-night inaugural sailing to Lighthouse Point is scheduled for June 8 and includes two stops at the new island destination and a day at Castaway Cay. Additionally, a three-night preview cruise on the Disney Magic from Fort Lauderdale on June 6 will offer limited access to some areas of Lighthouse Point.

After the first two sailings, Lighthouse Point will be a featured port-of-call on select three-, four-, and five-night sailings to The Bahamas and the Caribbean on Disney Magic, departing from Fort Lauderdale. The itineraries will vary, including stops between Lighthouse Point and Castaway Cay.

Disney Cruise Line has also announced new ports of call for its European itineraries, which will be available in summer 2024. The Disney Dream will visit destinations in the Mediterranean, Greek Isles, British Isles, Norwegian Fjords, and Iceland. The Mediterranean itinerary includes three destinations, Catania (Italy), Kusadasi (Turkey), and Valletta (Malta), which have not been featured on itineraries since 2014. Additionally, new ports of call for the European itineraries include Valencia (Spain), Haugesund (Norway), and Hamburg (Germany). The company also plans to offer itineraries for Alaska and the Caribbean.

Disney Cruise Line’s Mediterranean and Greek Isles cruises will range from five to 11 nights and depart from Barcelona, Spain, and Civitavecchia, Rome. The Northern Europe and British Isles sailings will be available from three to 12 nights, featuring Norwegian fjords and an overnight stay in Reykjavik.

Disney Cruise Line will also offer Alaska itineraries departing from Vancouver, Canada, on the Disney Wonder from May through September 2024. Passengers can choose from five, seven, and nine-night itineraries, which include stops in Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchikan and glacier viewing along Stikine Icecap.

Earlier this year, Disney Cruise Line announced the return of its popular Pixar Day at Sea and Marvel Day at Sea, featuring characters from beloved movies such as Monsters Inc., Toy Story, and Finding Nemo. Pixar Day at Sea has been especially popular among passengers.
