Qatar ‘Whale Sharks’ tours return from May to August.

Qatar Airways’ destination management company, Discover Qatar, has revealed that the ‘Whale Sharks in Qatar tours will make a comeback with their second edition starting on May 18, 2023, and continuing until the end of August.

Offering a unique experience, the ‘Whale Sharks in Qatar’ tours are scheduled every Thursday to Sunday and last for eight hours on a 40-seater catamaran, starting at USD 249 per person. For a more exclusive experience, private charters on luxury yachts for up to 16 guests are also available. Expert guides, Wi-Fi, refreshments, breakfast, and lunch are included in both tour options.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, expressed his excitement for the second edition of ‘Whale Sharks in Qatar’ tours, provided by Discover Qatar, stating that it’s an exclusive chance for nature enthusiasts to witness and engage with these majestic sea creatures. He added that Qatar’s presence as home to one of the world’s biggest congregations of whale sharks is a source of pride for the airline, and they are committed to promoting Qatar as the premier destination for experiencing such awe-inspiring marine life.

Qatar boasts the world’s most extensive congregation of whale sharks, providing visitors with a unique opportunity to witness them in one location. These ‘gentle giants’ have been around for 60 million years, can live up to a century, and can grow up to 12 meters long. The ‘Whale Sharks of Qatar’ tour was launched in 2022 and proved immensely popular, with almost 500 participants witnessing up to 300 whale sharks gathering off the northeastern coast of Qatar.
