London has made the top 20 on a list of 50 places, securing the title of 12th most Instagrammable place in the world, which is pretty good considering the competition. That is after we have set aside our prejudices.

London has taken the top spot not only because every picture of it looks amazing, but also because of a unique scoring system. Big 7 Travel’s list is based on an analysis of the number of hashtags per destination, the results of a social media survey, and the editorial team’s trust.

As one might expect, the competition was fierce, with London beating out Sydney, Australia (13) and Santorini, Greece (14), while being narrowly beaten out by Wadi Rum, Jordan (11) and Ha Long Bay, Vietnam.

Singapore, on the other hand, reigned supreme. Secret London grudgingly admits that the city-state is a worthy winner, praising the “vibrant kaleidoscope of street art through Haji Lane” and the colorful houses on Koon Seng Road.

Big 7 Travel stated that “from the opulence that pours out of Buckingham Palace to the iconic candy-colored houses of Notting Hill and sweeping views from the London Eye; it’s no surprise that London is truly in a league of its own.”
