England removes all travel restrictions
Today, England joined a growing number of countries in eliminating all entry restrictions.
England will join the following nations in ending all COVID-19 travel restrictions:
The Previous Entry Requirements
Previously, all travelers had to fill out a Passenger Locator Form three days before landing in England, regardless of vaccination status. Previously, all travelers—regardless of vaccination status—had to complete a Passenger Locator Form 3 days before arriving in England.
As of March 18, 2022, these limitations are no longer in effect while entering England.
From 4 am GMT on March 18, all travelers, including unvaccinated travelers, no longer need to:
- Take any tests
- Complete the Passenger Locator Form
- Quarantine upon arrival
As a result, England has returned to pre-pandemic levels of normality. COVID-19 is not an issue when visiting London or other popular English cities like Manchester, Oxford, Liverpool, or York.
Furthermore, all internal COVID-19 limitations in England have been removed, including the legal necessity to self-isolate if a person tests positive for COVID-19, the legal requirement to wear masks, and all government controls on social distancing, curfews, and gatherings.
But What About The Rest Of The U.K?
Devolved power between the four nations of the United Kingdom—England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland—means different restrictions in different nations, similarly to different restrictions in different U.S. states.
Scotland and Wales are yet to remove all travel restrictions. Reports suggest both countries are still deciding upon whether to scrap all travel restrictions like England.
We will update you as soon as we know!
