Here is the list of 66 countries that Philippine passport holders can visit Visa-free as released by the annual Henley Passport Index.
The updated global passport index ranks the Philippines at 78th spot among 199 different passports’ visa-free access to 227 travel destinations worldwide.
The 2022 Henley Passport Index released prior to the general elections in April lists the Philippines with 66 countries that passport holders can access without a prior visa, in the same rank as the Cape Verde Islands.
Here are the 66 countries that Philippine passport holders can visit this year with no prior visa needed:
Oceania
Middle East and Carribbean
Asia
Americas
Africa
The Philippines plunged to its all-time lowest rank at 83rd in 2021 since the country debuted on the index at 63rd spot in 2006, and peaked at 62nd spot from 2007-2009. The Philippines was in 74th rank in 2020, 77th in 2019, 75th rank in 2018, and 75th rank in 2017.
The ranking is based on an exclusive and official database of travel information from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) enhanced by extensive, ongoing research by the Henley & Partners Research Department.
The countries are ranked according to the following formula:
If no visa is required, then a score with value = 1 is created for that passport. The same applies if you can obtain a visa on arrival, a visitor’s permit, or an electronic travel authority (ETA) when entering the destination.
Where a visa is required, or where a passport holder has to obtain a government-approved electronic visa (e-Visa) before departure, a score with value = 0 is assigned. This also applies if you need pre-departure government approval for a visa on arrival.
The total score for each passport is equal to the number of destinations for which no visa is required (value = 1).
